10 things Xbox One can do that PS4 cannot

With the console war raging, Xbox fans arguing with PlayStation fans on which console is better and constantly struggle to explain just why their favorite is better than the others, we figured that it’s time to put some hard facts out there for all to see.

At the end of this article, we won’t be declaring who the obvious winner is; there are simply far too many aspects that have to be taken into consideration, with the most important one being personal preference. But we will talk about some of the advantages that Xbox has over the PS4.

There are, of course, some aspects in which PS4 is probably better than an Xbox, but since we’re team Xbox, you won’t find them here.

1. Watch TV

The Xbox One allows you to watch Live TV and supplies you with an Xbox One guide. Your guide can contain third-party apps such as Hulu plus, Netflix, or even your personal photo gallery. The Xbox One can also add your friend’s photos to your Xbox One guide. This one is particularly important if you hate switching between your game screen and TV screen, but you want to watch something while you game, or in-between action.

2. Snap Feature

The Snap Feature on the Xbox One takes multitasking to the next level. It will allow you to play games while surfing the web, checking up on friends, using Skype, or even while you watch TV or any combination of the sort. This is particularly important because it’s really difficult and, let’s be honest, not fun at all to play with using voice communication. Furthermore, if you simply sit on the couch to discuss something and you start talking about the thing you don’t quite understand, it would be frustrating to search the web by using your phone or a PC every time. Web searching helps a lot when it comes to gaming as well, simply because you may find solutions to your problems without having to leave your battle station.

3. Skype

You will be able to use Skype right from your couch on your Xbox One. The Kinect integrated skype will be able to follow you around the room as you walk and speed, tracking your skeletal frame. This is amazing if you want to have a long talking session with your friends and family from abroad, or even your loved one who is currently far away. If not that, Skype users have a lot of friends on Skype, and they have probably been using Skype long before these super-consoles were introduced. Skype account isn’t just about voice over communication, you can use it for a lot of other things too, and if you have a lot of friends on your Skype account, it comes in handy to have Skype available without having to switch to your PC.

4. Kinect

The Kinect for the Xbox one is a very powerful machine, processing around 2 GB’s of data per second. The technology of kinect will allow you to play games in pitch black, track your heart rate and calculate force. Some Kinect games are terribly fun to play. There was a huge hype about Kinect and it died down really fast, but that doesn’t mean that there are still a large number of fans out there who would really love to play Kinect games. Not only that, but it can help you exercise too, which, to be honest, is a good thing after you’ve been sitting for a few hours.

5. DLNA Media Streaming

DLNA support will allow you to stream music and videos to your Xbox One. Using this, you can turn your room into an entertainment center quite easily, making your Xbox One the heart of it all.

6. Trigger rumble motors

These triggers, only in Xbox One, will change the way gamers perceive the game. It will provide additional feedback to the user, which may prove very useful in some particular games. Especially fast-paced games where you have to process information very, very fast. Having something to rely on, other than your eyes, may prove very useful.

7. Instant switching

The Xbox One allows instant switching between apps and gaming. It can switch Live TV to Gaming to Hulu Plus and then Netflix instantly. Maybe you don’t think that this is a big deal, but once you use a device which forces you to wait a few seconds every time you want to switch from one mode to another, you will see how precious it is.

8. Interactive TV

Interactive TV will allow things such as live updates of your fantasy sports right in your television. This will be particularly useful if you’re a hardcore sports fan. If you want to know as soon as possible about any possible updates in real time, or if you placed some money on your favorite sports team but you can’t pause the gaming session to see the results.

9. Voice activated power on

This allows you to turn on your Xbox One with just your voice. It’s a neat little trick that’s going to make you feel like you’re from the future.

Has it ever happened to you that you are all prepared to start your gaming session, you sit on the couch just to find out that you haven’t powered on the device? How frustrating is it when something like that happens? With this feature, you can rest assured that you will never have to suffer through it again.

10. MP3 playback

Xbox One will allow you to play and load your music with your console.

Who doesn’t like listening to music while gaming? This feature is amazing for those lazy nights when you just want to be alone. When you want to lose yourself in some epic single-player adventure, turn some music on, and take a break from the rest of the world.
